Winter SUN is coming!
As this calendar year wraps up, we are gearing up in the SUN office for seven fun weeks of winter, after school programming. We have some exciting classes lined up for the fall, including Wacky Science, Girls Inc, Graphic Novels, Basketball, Hip Hop Dance, AKA Science, Book Arts, and Ceramics. Registration forms are due to the SUN office by Friday, December 19. Classes will be filled by a lottery, with preference given to students with some academic risk factor. Students will be notified of their schedule on Thursday, January 22nd.
Important dates for Winter Session:
*Thursday, December 11- Registration forms go home with students
*Monday, December 15- Friday, December 19: Turn Registration forms into the SUN office with no money attached!
*Thursday, January 22- SUN schedules go home
*Monday, January 26- SUN classes begin!
*Thursday, March 12- SUN classes end
Ya vienen las clases de SUN del invierno!
Mientras termina otro año del calendario, estamos preparando otro semestre de clases de SUN muy divertido. Tenemos varios clases interesantes, como arte, baloncesto, baile de "hip hop", AKA Ciencia, Cerámica, y xilófono. Las inscripciones tienen que estar entregadas antes del viernes, 19 de diciembre. Aceptamos a los estudiantes en el programa basado en algunos factores de su exito academico. Avisamos a los estudiantes el jueves, 22 de enero.
Fechas importantes para la sesión del invierno:
*Jueves, 11 de diciembre- Formularios de inscripción van a la casa con los niños
*Lunes, 15-19 de diciembre- Se acepta los registros en la oficina de SUN sin dinero
*Jueves, 22 de enero- Horarios de SUN van a la casa
*Lunes, 26 de enero- Las clases de SUN empiezan
*Jueves, 12 de marzo- Terminan las clases de SUN

What is a SUN (Schools Uniting Neighborhoods) School?
A SUN Community School is not a program, but rather a place and support hub where schools and communities work together to support the success of children and families and provide a comprehensive array of services. They serve as the vehicle to link community institutions, such as libraries, parks, community centers, neighborhood health clinics and area churches and businesses.
The SUN Service System leads to educational success and family self-sufficiency through an integrated network of social and support services for youth, families and community members. This nationally recognized system of care works to ensure families are healthy so they can champion and support their children.

Bridger SUN is a program run by Impact NW, whose mission is to help people achieve and maintain self-sufficiency and to prevent and alleviate the effects of poverty. We are a unique non-profit human service organization, serving over 60,000 children, families, seniors, and adults with disabilities annually, throughout Multnomah, Clark, Washington and Clackamas Counties.
